Ready, Set, Go

I'm back on the syringe pony. Hubby gave me my lupron shot this morning. It was everything I remembered. I'm not a virgin, touched by the needle for the very first time anymore.

Hubby asked how I wanted it and I said, "Do it like we're making love. Quick and Painless." He did not. It hurt. He needs to get his technique down again. I told him that it probably hurt this time because he's been lifting weights and he doesn't know the strength in his "guns" anymore.

Have I mentioned that I'm a big shot baby? I usually feel like running around the house shrieking, "NOOOOOOO!!!" when he comes at me with a syringe.

When hubby was done I said, "Bring on the bitchiness." Hubby didn't laugh. No symptoms to report thus far!!!

I hate that "old familiar feeling" of being poked. I hope the side effects of the lupron are minimal!

Honestly, I think it would be less painful to do it yourself. Not that I have a choice. :-/

when b did my shot for the first time he used two hands....for that tiny lupron shot. as a nurse i had to laugh. it was the cutest little thing.

i still ended up doing most of my own injections. it just takes a minute to get over the fact that you are about to stab your belly with something sharp....on purpopse!

yea for the official beginning!

lol that was funny... Except I'm terrifed of my husband giving me any injections.. When we have to start our IVF process soon, I don't know what I'll do with having to be "stuck" all the time. I HATE NEEDLES!!!

I haven't had my husband do any shots yet for this reason. I used to be terrified of needles myself but that has gotten better.

Try them yourself! I don't do the IM shots myself, but the subq ones really hurt less when you do it yourself.

Hope you don't get Looney on Lupron :)

Man, I keep trying to blame my bitchiness on the meds, but I haven't been on them in 2 months and I'm still an a@#hole.

I totally agree that giving yourself subcu shots yourself is less painful than trusting the husband. My husband is in the medical field, and he never could do the Lupron shots without bruising me (I feel sorry for his patients - ha ha).

I hate shots, but I easily became a pro with a little practice and guidance from him. And, it made me feel really in control - a feeling I deeply relish while in the depths of IF hell.

Hope tomorrow is a little less painful.

My husband gives me my shots. I like to close my eyes and pretend it's not happening. I think he secretly likes it.

I hope the Lupron doesn't make you crazy!

i'm doing my shots myself, since i'm used to it. i'm scared about joe giving me the progesterone and hcg shots though!

I could never have had my husband give me the shots! Too much anxiety waiting for him to plunge it in. I had to do them myself... from the start, and I'm so glad I did. Even though I'd push it in with my eyes closed - EVERY time. ;)

Glad to have you up and running! Here's to having a semi-cycle buddy!

My husband is a paramedic and gives shots and inserts IVs every day, but the one thing he cannot and will not do is giving me a shot. What a baby. :-)
