The Worst Year Ever?

Sometimes I get confused about what year it is. I know that makes me sound a little stupid and airheaded, but there's a good reason.

My company's fiscal year ends in February, so I have been in fiscal 2010 for eight months; fiscal 2010 and calendar 2009. January 1 not only marks a new calendar year, but also those magical two months when calendar and fiscal years converge and I don't have to pause and think before filling out the date on a form.

I don't really know what to say about 2009. It wasn't good. This time last year I predicted that 2009 would end with a baby, a pregnancy, or an end to our non-baby makin' journey. None of these are true; so I can add inability to tell the future to my list of failures this year.

I've been reading reflective blog posts. I've watched year end retrospective specials on the news. I've written this blog post three times now. But I've realized that I really don't want to reflect on 2009.

It sucked.

Next week I am officially "on calendar" for IVF attempt #5.

Here's to a happy 2010 and a more profitable fiscal 2011!

We are all geared up for 2010. I figure it can't suck nearly as much as 2009. Or can it? Anyways, it's bringing me a new sense of hope which I desperately needed...

Amen to that. 2009 can kiss my ass.

Hoping 2010 is much kinder to all of us!

Hurrah for 2010 & hurrah for a new cycle coming up. Yeah, 2009 can't leave the building quickly enough for me...

2009 s-u-u-u-c-k-e-d!!! Though it got a little better for me in the past few days, I'm all about 2010 being the year of the IF blogger!

First let me say that I *LOVE* your header! I usually read your blog via Google Reader, so if it has been up for a while, I apologize for being late to comment on it. (We have two golden retrievers we love, and yours is especially cute.)

Second. . . I'm with you 100%. 2009 was such a bad year that I couldn't even bring myself to write a newsletter for our Christmas cards this year: it was just impossible to put a positive "spin" on so much suckage.

Good luck with IVF #5! I hope it'll be the one that works for you.

Hrmph. Who wanted to be pregnant in 2009 anyway? 2010 is a much cooler year.

Sounds like everyone's in agreement that '09 was crap. Let's hope for better in 2010. New year, new decade, and lots of new luck!

I'm right there with you. We started the year with our hopeless IF dx and we are ending with BFN after IVF. I will be glad to see this year gone. Just wish I had higher hopes for the year to come.

My prognostication skills are also sorely lacking, dammit. Here's to a better 2010 (both fiscally and calendarily).

:o)

Best of luck...it seems like everybody has high hopes for 2010. How can it not go good with all that pressure?

New year, old goals, fresh hope. To one more cycle, and to 2010. Cheers.

At the risk of being cheezzzzy! Out with the old, in with the new. I hope 2010 is good to you!

May I say your fiscal year thing is pretty useful 'cause if you did get pregnant in any given month it immediately correlates with whichever year your child is born in.

Clever.

Sorta.
