Greetings ladies, I have seen the other side and it is definitely better.
Today I was not battling anxiety in the waiting room, wondering what new and wonderful medical procedure awaits me on the other side of the door while my husband calmly reads a sports magazine. Today, Tony (my husband) was the anxious one and I read a book.
Today I was not the one being poked and prodded while he sits in the waiting room watching daytime TV. Instead I was the one blissfully unaware of IVs, medications, and blood pressures; watching Matt Lauer while I waited to be called back to the recovery room.
Today Tony got probed.
He got probed through the front door; camera down the throat. Tony has acid reflux and a few months ago he woke up a couple nights throwing up blood. It took me one month to get him to go to his GP. Then it took me another month to get him to schedule this appointment that his GP suggested.
Men.
The good news is that he hasn’t had any blood throwing up incidents in the past few months (just the two times a couple months ago). The good news is that the preliminary results from today showed no causes for concern. The good news is that he was given a new dosage of his medicine that should help his acid reflux. Now we just wait for the results of some precautionary biopsies.
I have to admit that it felt good to be on the other side for a change.

yikes. i hope he's okay. those tests are weird b/c the person is awake during the procedure, but doesn't remember any of it. strange.
xoxo
I hope he's alright. I need to get my husband in for that same test. It's like pulling teeth. How long until you get the results back? Thinking of you.
While I feel bad for Tony for having to have reflux, vomit blood, and get 'scoped, it seems only fair that he have a turn getting his interior inspected. Hope all is well.
We have a couple weeks until we get the results. But it really sounded like everything they were testing for was precautiounary and if he tested positive for anything, it was treatable.
So good news. Cancer runs in his family and he has already outlived his father...so I always kind of worry.
Clarifying...NOT good news that cancer runs in his family.
Good news today.
My husband complained because during the initial testing for dx he had three vials of blood drawn (to my 15) and they made a mistake and put them in the wrong vial. So he had to go back for three new vials.
Even so he still didnt reach my 15.
He is such a baby.
I hope he is ok. But I am Glad to hear the preliminary results are good.
My husband is the same way. He is so stubborn about going to the doctor.
Best wishes for him.
I figured it was only fair during the first IVF cycle since he went through a varicocelectomy. But I expect pampering this second one.
Hope he's doing okay.
As for being on the other side of the door... that would be a new and interesting experience!
You are a better woman than I to wait 2 months for this! We nearly lost Barney last year to a GI bleed, so now I'm SUPER paranoid. Glad his seems to be nothing!
Though I'm amazed that you weren't crawling out of your skin...I'm more nervous when its not me behind the doors!
THat is great preliminary good news!
Ah...to be the one not getting poked...
it only counts for half credit if there aren't stirrups involved:) I hope all the results show no problems and he's feeling better!
Damn, throwing up blood...thats some scary shit. Hope hes ok.
Hugs
wow - i sure hope he is okay. I'm so glad you got him to go to the doctor. That really is a wife's role - seems men would never go on their own. Glad that preliminary tests are positive. Hoping for more good news.
I am praying he has good results on his test. WOW! That would freak me out sooo bad.
