If you find one, let me know. I would so hire an IF doula to deal with my crappy life...

Seriously, that's what I want to be when I grow up. When I mentioned it at my clinic--my willingness to even provide the service for free--they sort of gave a nervous laugh. And we never spoke of it again...

Don't forget administering injections when you can't reach your own butt.

oooh they could deal with insurance companies too!

Seriously I thought of this as possible "thing to be"-- I even used the same phrase! I don't think it is crazy to wish for a IF sherpa, someone who can carry the bullshit load and leave us to our injections (except, as cassandra pointed out, when we cannot reach our own butts)

My pharmacy was amazing-- Ascend in Maine, they ship everywhere and have the best customer service ever. I cannot say enough about them- free shipping too.

I also had some donated meds from my clinic, you can always ask.

warmly,
Kate

Hey,

I'm still unemployed so I will take the job. I can also yell at stupid nurses and financial counselors for you as well.

Hugs!

Freakin love it. Great idea. I would do this job...but as I would need one myself, I think the car may end up too crowded to accompany you to your appointments.

Could they take my BBT? I love this idea!!!

That would be amazing...and I haven't even been through IVF. But I can't make it through a doctor's appt without bawling or just staring shell-shocked at what I've just heard, so an IF doula was still be so very helpful to me :). And sorry, but husband's just can't fill that spot (usually, anyway).

flipping awesome idea.

You know, in my town, the american cancer society has volunteers that serve as drivers/helpers/shoulders to cry on for people undergoing treatments. Wouldn't it be bliss if RE's offered the same service???

Yes, if someone could just please reach my butt when my hubby isn't home. Apologies in advance for my flabby ass.

This is actually a great idea. Can I apply?

You should add:
+gives massages
+smacks idiots who say ignorant and hurtful shit, then hands them a helpful information pamphlet from RESOLVE
+tells you you're doing great and look fabulous
+provides quality chocolate, bacon, or other comestibles during the wait until beta.
+purchases (or hides) the peesticks.

Greatest idea ever. Wonder if I can get a husband doula? He's so impossible sometimes. :)

Maybe you could get that added to the insurance reform legislation!

great idea! i so needed this when going thru IVF's b/c my RE's office hated me. i'm pretty sure that is why they kicked me out when i was 6w/4d pregnant istead of waiting 10-12 weeks like most. assholes.

good luck in the search;)

This is great. I also want to work in my RE's office so I can provide these services! Something like this is so greatly needed!

And they should start nesting early onyour behalf (i.e. cleaning).

LOL. The number of times I have made an appointent and then realized I had a conference call that conflicted with it. They should allow you to do it online.

I suppose a close friend or family member might be willing to do some of what's listed for free! :)

I forgot one! Remind me if I've taken my pills or not!!! ARRGGHH!

Love it! Can she also screen my email and phone calls for pregnancy/baby-related info I don't want to hear, take RE messages, and fill in as a temp for my job when I feel like staying in bed? And I second the above suggestion for providing massages; any qualified applicant should be a certified message therapist.

"Message" therapist might be a new career, perhaps related to the email/phone/RE screening? Ha.
