Bo's Busy Weekend

Bo has become quite the little treat whore. He is quite good at doing tricks in order to get treats from his mom (yes, we are *those* people and refer to each other as "mom" and "dad" when talking to Bo. I know lots of people do this, but it seems especially desperate and sad when you are infertile.)

Bo can sit.

and lay down.
But we are still perfecting commands like come, drop it, and don't eat my face.

On Saturday we took Bo downtown for his first trip to the dog bakery. He was quite the hit and everyone wanted to pet him. Bo picked out some peanut butter kitty cookies and lamb sausages. We were also planning on taking some funny Christmas card pictures, posing Bo on the various statues downtown, but there were too many people around and he couldn't focus.

There was a children's festival going on in the park. Normally I would have avoided such a festival, but I can't pass up an opportunity to socialize my puppy...so we went.

The "Life is Good" festival. (All evidence to the contrary.)

Bo rocking out to the music.

On Sunday Bo "helped" Tony with some yard work. We thought it was totally funny when Bo helped dig out some bulbs, until he kept digging and digging and digging.

Bo pulling out plants for the winter.

And taking off with mom's gardening glove.

Bo is a doll. My puppy is 6 years old and I still call her my dogbaby. And we are mama and papa to her around the house. No shame. Well, maybe just a little, since it's confined to "in the house when no one's around." :)

He's such a cutie pie! We call each other mommy and daddy too. So dorky but who cares. We love our animals! I always wonder how the dogs will do WHEN we have babies running around the house calling us mommy and daddy too! ;) I guess it's good practice, right? And our dogs are both total treat whores. As soon as you say, "Cookie" they're on it!

Great post!

I absolutely LOVE golden retrievers! We have two.

Oh, and funny coincidence: the tile in our house is almost identical to yours. Hmmm.

My husband refers to me as "Mom" for the dogs. "They" refer to him as "Daddy M--". ;-)

Bo looks like he had a great time! Don't feel bad about the mommy and daddy thing. We trained Sweetpea to find us. If I tell her to go "go find daddy," she'll run through the house looking for him. :D Pepper, our treat whore, started getting so plump from the treats that we started buying pupcorn because it was only 10 calories per treat! lol Enjoy Bo!

I love him! He's so cute I want him to snuffle my face.

I think people who don't call themselves "mom" and "dad" to their dogs have something wrong with them. However, people who do it with cats freak me out...

Bo is adorable!! It's a good sign that your guys are trying on your 'mom' and 'dad' hats for size. ;-)

What an awesome post. Bo is too cute and the pictures are perfect. We have talked about getting a golden too. Our neighbors have one and he's so smart. He actually knows our property line and when I call him over to our side he goes down on his belly when he enters our yard and army crawls to me, lol. No one told him to do it, he just does.

Does Bo sleep in bed with you guys? I've always said I would never do that, but I can imagine what it would be like to have a little Bo staring at you. I think I'd cave:)

We have a golden retriever (9 y.o.) and he is proudly referred to as "the baby" by me and my husband. Like jenicini's dog, he knows what we mean when we say "go find daddy."
Isn't it fun having a dog? Its a mighty good distraction!

YOu have a dog bakery! I've never even heard of one of them, now I am seeing a gap in the market over here in the UK.

Bo is looking ridiculously cute at the moment, give him a cuddle via the internet.

Bo is the cutest dog ever. Who could resist such a face?!

Love it - and identify with it all. Little Miss M is still too young to go to the park but is also working on commands at a supersonic learning level.

Bo is SUCH a cutie!

When you figure out how to teach "Don't Eat My Face", please let us know.

Also, Moxie jumped on couch yesterday for first time. And I thought of you!

The pictures of Bo put the biggest smile on my face! And we are also those people who are "mom" and "dad" to our two precious Golden Babies. I love it!
