A Very Merry Unbirthday To Me

On Tony's birthday our first IVF cycle was cancelled.

On our anniversary we were told we had no embryos to transfer for IVF try number three.

So yesterday was my birthday. The big three-two. I fully expected one of the following scary things to happen:

A. My little sister would call me and tell me she was pregnant.

B. My uterus would literally fall out of my vagina...probably at work in the middle of a meeting.

C. My husband's testicles would spontaneously combust leaving him with nothing but barbecued sperm.

None of the above happened. In fact, nothing too bad OR too good happened. It was just a day, which is how I like my birthdays. Hopefully I will survive my next 364 unbirthdays with no drama until my birthday comes around again...

Perhaps this is the start of a new trend for important days. What good news can you get on the 4th of July?

you know, I've had vague visions of my uterus literally falling out too...I thought it was just me.

Happy (uneventful) birthday.

Happy Birthday and UNBirthday, may you have many more!

That don't include ANY bad things like those you listed happening. Ever.

No drama in the next 364 days...unless you have a successful IVF and transfer cycle and then you'll take all the pregnancy drama in the world, right?!!!

I remember birthday "celebrations" so well during our struggle with infertility. I was 29 when we started TTC and just assumed I'd have a baby by 30. Who knew it would take 5 years and a succesful IVF cycle to achieve that birthday with baby (btw...I delivered our sweet miracle just 3 weeks before turning 35) celebration.

Now I have another birthday looming on the horizon, a milestone birthday, and I've got mixed feelings about it. I truly thought that I would be in a different place in life as I turned 40, but in many ways it is a life better than I ever expected. Yes, there's been many sorrows and losses along the way, but many blessings too...and not just the baby kind.

So, a very HAPPY birthday to you! May all you wishes come true this year.

I'm glad the just-another-ordinary-day was uneventful. Hope all future unbirthday days bring you good news (or at least no bad news!)

Canada Day is July 1 - perhaps that could bring an increase on the Hope-O-Meter, eh? Just playing. Did you at least get a nice gift from your hubby? Happy Birthday!

Happy (belated) Birthday!

(My word verification is 'surge' which is a good strong, life genrating word - take it as an omen).

Happy birthday! I hope that things continue to be uneventful except for good events, of course.

Cheers to your birthday and to your uterus remaining in place. I apologize though I did laugh at the mental image of sperm on the bbq...don't know why.

May your next birthday bring you happiness, and excitement (in a good way)b

I believe that the fates knew that they had screwed with you enough on major holidays and it was time for a break. Either that, or your uterus couldn't figure out how to leave the mothership.

Either way, happy birthday and I'm glad that it was of no high or low drama.

I always say any Birthday that my uterus doesn't fall out is a good birthday. Well I don't normally say that, but from now on I will.

Happy birthday - glad it brought no catastrophes and hope it also brought at least one smile during the day. Wishing you a great year!

Happy Birthday...and welcome to 32.

You combusting testicle comment got me thinking.Do you think that testicles are like forests...and if I burned my husbands down he might regrow new and improved sperm-making testicles?

Happy drama-free birthday!
I sometimes wonder if I will go in for monitoring one day and find that some (or all ) of my reproductive organs scurried off in the middle of the night. I'm glad yours are still intact

Happy unbirthday!

two dreams lately have featured my ladyparts either coming apart or just rotting.
Um. too bad I have not personalized this whole IF thing, I'm just saying.
Very glad all your parts stayed whole.

Happy Birthday! And sad, but true, about the crappy stuff happening on important dates...sometimes a totally average day is a blessing.
