Book or a Toy?

"Book or a toy
Book or a toy
Only gonna buy one thing.
But I'll try for two
If I can
And drive my mother to the insane asylum"

This is a song we sing in my family. My aunt made it up. When my older brother was little and would go shopping with my mom he would have to chose between buying a book or buying a toy. He couldn't have both. He had to chose. (Which tells you a lot about my brother. By the time I was born, the "book or a toy" shopping policy had been suspended.)

Book or a toy. A difficult choice for a kid. Books are good. Toys are good. A book AND a toy would be heaven, but not an option. Can't have both. But really, how can you go wrong either way. Either way you WILL END UP with a BOOK or a TOY!

Day 3 or day 5? I really hope this is a "book or a toy" decision. I hope this is not a decision with a good choice and a bad choice. I hope this is not a decision with a right choice and a wrong choice. I hope this is a decision where you can't go wrong either way...

[Let me break here and just express how overjoyed I am to HAVE A DECISION TO MAKE!]

It is a difficult decision. We do not have official charting on our embryos since they looked at them early especially for me, but we have four "very nice embryos". We will get official stats later today. My RE suggests that we wait. He believes very strongly in the "if they don't make it to five they are probably not good" theory. He would only do a three at my request. He does not suggest a three. (Does that mean I can blame him when it all goes wrong?)

We have decided to wait until Friday for a five day transfer.

I have to go vomit now.

Hoping that this turns out to be a book and a toy for you.

Day 5 embryos are practically babies, so it will get you THAT much closer to success. Four good-looking embryos at this stage is GREAT - and the less attractive guys and gals may just catch up. Good looking out!

Try to pre-occupy yourself and thought over the next 2 days. These will be the longest 2 days of your life!

I am SURE that everything will be great, whether it be a book or a toy!

This is really great. 4 "very nice" embryos is a good number...here's for a great transfer on Friday!!

Hi, been following your blocking, and I think a 5-day transfer sounds about right, and go ahead and blame the doctor if it doesn't work. From what I know, 5-day tansfers are more successful. Good luck!

Sorry about the blocking mistake...I have a macro program for work and sometimes it spits out the wrong word...It should have been following your blog..Cheers!

I vote for the 5 day too. I can only imagine how difficult it is to be in your shoes.

Sending warm fuzzies to your embies.

Hang in there!!!

I think you are allowed to blame him if it doesn't work. But I'm hoping for you that the 5 day transfer is just what those little embies need :)

Just think, if you wait until a 5 day, your 2ww will be that much shorter. :) Wishing you a calm and peaceful stomach now. No more throwing up.

Fingers crossed for as many books and as many toys as you can carry. I'm really excited for you and am very pleased to see the hope-o-meter right up there (we all know that can be a challenge). Keep up the positive thinking and all that visualisation stuff to help you through. Hope the shitstorm day isn't too bad. I'll be rooting for you all the way.

Day 5 is a great choice! I'm sure this cycle is the lucky one, and it won't have mattered either way. I bet you'll have 2 embryos to transfer and 2 to freeze for later use.

Good luck!

I'll race you to the toilet.

I just had 3 beautiful little embryos transferred on day 2. Day TWO. Crazy, huh? My doc is of the mind that my uterus makes a better incubator than a petrie dish. Heck... who knows???

Good luck to you!

Day 5. Excellent choice. Dunno why but i trust you.

wow. how nice to have a choice. my clinic always told me that i would just do a 3 day transfer. whenever i asked about the 5 day transfer they told me it wasn't an option.

if the doc thinks that is the best option and that's how you feel in your gut...i say it's gotta be the right decision.

My clinic subscribes to the same theory about Day 5 as your clinic. I think Friday is a GREAT day for a transfer - you'll have all weekend to relax and eat well and be waited on by your darling husband! Sending you and your embies lots of positive energy!!
